Tatiana Stussy Shirt

Stussy has commissioned a R.I.P. Tatiana teeshirt design to honor the memory of the tiger slaughtered at the SF Zoo. I know a human life was lost and that is terrible (and avoidable). However, there are a bunch of people that feel saddened by the death of the tiger. So this one is for you! Here is a mock up of the shirt and there will be shots of actual people wearing them coming soon. A special thanks to David Rush at Stussy SF for the opportunity to collaborate with some cool people.

Benefit Show

Kelly and I donated artwork to a benefit show being held in Los Angeles on July 5th. I have attached the specifics of the show/silent auction below. There are a bunch of great artists involved in this benefit so please come out and support the show. Please read on: It is with a deep and profound sadness tempered with gratitude and pride that we would like to announce "How Well Do You Remember?", a retrospective of the works of Phoebe Stewart Washer. Phoebe was at the beginning of a very promising career when her life was cut short by a tragic accident. She was a gifted, essentially self-taught artist whose works show a depth of feeling and spirit rare in someone so young. We are grateful and proud to have the opportunity to showcase her work in a show at the POVevolving Gallery in Los Angeles. The show will feature a number of paintings and sculptures by Phoebe Stewart Washer. In addition, we have invited a number of artist friends including Attaboy, Huck G, Will Smith, Todd Barricklow, Leigh Barbier, David Best, Michael Garlington, Phoebe's special protege Stella Brown and many others to create pieces specifically to benefit the newly formed Phoebe Washer Foundation for the Arts. Limited Editions prints of some of Phoebe's 'key' pieces, including 'How Well Do You Remember' and 'From Above,' will be released at the show and will be available via POVeditions.com thereafter. Drawing With Deth

Hey there, I had a long week of dental appointments, blood tests, and acupuncture needles... But it wasn't all fun & games. I met up with Deth P Sun at his home that he shares with his talented fiance Marci Washington. The purpose of our momentous meeting was to begin a collaboration project that we hope will be awesome enough for a collaborative show curated by Tiny Showcase. Anyways, we had a lot of fun and came up with some awesome sketches. I look forward to further collaborations with the Deth.

I am working on a few different commissions right now and things are starting to come along. Right now, I am working on a triptych for the offices of kni. I am building up layers with some stains (got some in my eye today)(ow) and I really like how it's coming along.

Sketch Tuesday

111 Minna Gallery is hosting another one of their monthly sketch gatherings. Each month they invite a bunch of artists to come out and create affordable pieces of art work. It is a great way to meet artists in your area and also for artists in the community to connect and say hello. Another component of the sketch tuesday party is that each month, the artist of the month, gets to invite their favorite artists and friends to come out and draw. This month it happens to be myself and my wife which is pretty exciting. It should be a fun night and kelly and I will be talking about our show as yet another piece of the puzzle for about 5-10 minutes at around 9pm. We will also have a super limited amount of tee shirts from the Circus! show still available for you to purchase for 20 dollars! Dan the Automator and Mike Patton are going to be mixing it up at the great american music hall tonight. I think it should be an amazing show. I am huge fan of Dan's work and have had the good fortune to grow up in the Bay Area. He is definitely one of those dudes that had to show and prove elsewhere before getting his proper respect here in the Bay. That being said, his music continues to grow in interesting and innovative ways. Come take a peek tonight!
