Work

In Flight Triptych

June 14, 2008

Commission, Painting

I have just completed three paintings for a client who was interested in letting me explore different modes of transportation a french bulldog might find useful. I came up with three simple solutions: 1) by french bulldog/sparrow crossbreed 2) by french bulldog hot air balloon 3) by french bulldog propeller hat. These works are being shown in a transitory place (a hallway) in a work place and therefore I wanted to create artwork that had motion, humor, and the hint of the outside. The work space also has a lot of brick and natural wood so I wanted to compliment that by working on wood panels and instead of building layers with paint, I worked with stains and washes. I feel like the backgrounds in all of these pieces came out pretty awesome and the layers really give depth to the pieces. Anyhow, take a look at the images and I hope you like them!

Laser Deck

June 3, 2008

Commerical, Illustration

I designed a skateboard deck for a company. I decided to use one of my giant robots getting tricked into having his big metal shoelaces tied together. I figure a giant robot has a much further distance to fall to the ground than you or I and therefore the plummet would probably slay the metal menace.
